Contracts Manager – Retail Fit Out

A fantastic opportunity is available to join a specialist fit-out company based in the Northeast, focused on delivering high-quality retail and leisure projects across the North East, North West, Yorkshire, and Birmingham. As part of their ongoing expansion, they are excited to announce the opening of a new office in Leeds within the next 12 months. They pride themselves on delivering exceptional spaces, on time and within budget, and are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Manager to join the growing team.

This job will involve working across the Northeast; Yorkshire; Northwest and Birmingham and to be successful in this role you must have demonstratable experience working in the Retail / Commercial Fit Out sector for a UK based company.

Until the Leeds office is opened, the successful candidate will be expected to visit head office in Newcastle twice a week.

 

The Duties

  • Agree Project Objectives.
  • Ensure understanding and representation of Client’s interests.
  • Provide independent advice on the management of Projects.
  • Supervise Project Team and Sub-Contractors and ensure Sub-Contractor Guidelines are being met.
  • Ensure Risk Assessments are carried out on site to enable compliance with Health & Safety legislation and ensure ongoing adherence to Health & Safety protocols.
  • Ensure provision of Method Statements to the Client prior to commencement of works on site.
  • Ensure that all aims of the Project are being met.
  • Cost management of labour, resources and materials throughout the project and oversee Project accounting, costing and billing.
  • Oversee procurement of materials.
  • Ensure adherence to quality and assurance protocols.
  • Problem solve.
  • Use specialist construction management computer applications.
  • Ensure knowledge and awareness of your roles and responsibilities under the Company’s integrated management systems in relation to Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental.
  • Ensure knowledge and understanding of the Company’s policies and procedures in relation to data protection legislation.
  • Work without supervision.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to own personal development within the role.

 

The Requirements

  • Proven track record and experience in Contract management specific to the delivery of retail fitouts preferably with high end brands.
  • Be able to demonstrate a proven track record in completing projects to tight time scales and deadlines.
  • Hold a current SMSTS qualification
  • Have a high level of Health & Safety Awareness
  • Hold current First Aid and Scaffold Inspection Certificates.
  • Be experienced in all aspects of Construction from refurbishment in occupied buildings to new build projects.
  • Be used to operating in a disciplined, professional way using the company's various Management Systems.
  • Be capable of programming projects.
  • Be able to demonstrate that they can meet programme dates.
  • Be IT literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
